Privacy Policy

VeloMail ("we", "our") is a browser extension that helps you optimize sales emails for mobile viewing. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the extension.

Data we store

VeloMail stores the following data using the browser's storage (chrome.storage):

  • Settings: Your preferences (e.g. auto-show preview on or off). Stored locally on your device.
  • Onboarding state: Whether you have completed the welcome flow so we do not show it again. Stored locally.
  • Usage counter: A local count of emails sent through the extension each day, used only to enforce the free tier daily limit (5 sends per day) and to show your usage in the popup. It resets at local midnight each day.
  • Premium status: Whether you have Lifetime access, used to unlock unlimited sends. Stored in synced storage so it follows you across devices. We do not store payment card details.

We do not collect, send, or upload settings, usage, or onboarding data to any server. Premium status is set only after we verify your purchase (see Third-party services).

Data we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

  • The content of your emails
  • Your email address, name, or contact list
  • Any personally identifiable information (PII)
  • Browsing history or any data outside of Gmail and Outlook compose windows

Permissions and why we use them

  • Storage: To save your settings, daily usage counter, onboarding state, and premium status on your device (synced across your Chrome profile for premium status).
  • Active tab: To know when you are composing mail so we can show the preview and tips in context.
  • Alarms: To keep the service worker active so it can enforce the daily usage limit (5 per day, resets at local midnight). Alarm data stays on your device.
  • Host access (Gmail, Outlook): So the extension can run on mail.google.com and outlook.live.com / office.com to display the mobile preview and run the in-page UI. We do not read or send your email content to any third party.

Third-party services

Stripe (payments): When you purchase Lifetime access, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your payment card details. After you complete a purchase, our server verifies the transaction with Stripe once to unlock your extension. We send only a one-time checkout session ID for verification; we do not retain it.

VeloMail does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or other data-collection services. No data is shared with or sold to any third party.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
